Overview
Casual Learning Support Assistant on a casual contract at Bridgend College, serving Bridgend and Pencoed campuses. The role is offered on an ad hoc basis to fit service needs, and may include evening work. Salary is £12.66 per hour (Salary Scale 1).
Responsibilities
* Provide personalised learning support and, where needed, personal care to students with ALN to remove learning barriers across Bridgend College campuses.
* Support students in developing skills, confidence and understanding to progress in learning and work towards greater independence.
* Provide practical support, note-taking, reading, prompting/scribing and/or note-taking support as required.
Qualifications and requirements
* Minimum grade C in Maths and English or Welsh and a relevant Level 2 qualification.
* Experience working with people with additional learning needs or physical disabilities.
* Good IT, communication and note-taking skills; ability to work flexibly.
* Registration as an FE Learning Support Worker with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is required before starting.
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure for child and adult workforce is required; qualified candidates will be considered.
* Welsh language skills are encouraged; please indicate preference for assessment/interview in Welsh.
* Right to work in the UK; the College does not participate in the UK Visa Sponsorship Scheme.
