Job Summary
Frimley Health are looking for a Physiotherapy assistant with a 'can-do' attitude to join our team at Wexham Park Hospital to work across a range of our departments. While it is desirable to have previous experience working in a hospital or care environment, we are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering excellent standards of care. In this ward‑based role you will primarily assist the physiotherapy team with delivering rehabilitation to a variety of patients, some of whom may be quite unwell, so you may therefore be working in demanding environments.

If successful it is essential that you can attend face‑to‑face shifts; online alternatives will not be available.
Main duties of the job
* Provide general support in the area of work under the direct or indirect supervision of a qualified physiotherapist.
* Assist in the care of patients within the Rehabilitation Department, Medical, Orthopaedics and Acute Stroke Unit wards.

Job responsibilities
* Give general assistance to the therapist within the area of work.
* Supervise patient activities, including 1:1 delegated exercise programmes, patient education and exercise classes.
* Assist patients with personal care including toileting and dressing.
* Take patient handover on the ward from nursing staff when deemed competent by a Senior Physiotherapist.
* Keep records of work carried out, including daily statistics.
* Check, initiate and maintain stock levels of stationery, equipment, material, etc., on a regular basis; submit orders to senior staff.
* Communicate complex patient‑related information effectively to ensure collaborative working with the Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT) members.
* Maintain a competent level of IT skills.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: NVQ / GCSE equivalent in English.
* Essential: Good standard of written and spoken English.
* Desirable: Knowledge of some medical conditions.
Experience
* Essential: Experience of the UK health care environment.
* Desirable: Previous experience working as a physiotherapy assistant, and/or CSP associate member.
* Desirable: Previous knowledge of working with an electronic patient appointment system such as iPM.
* Essential: Good interpersonal skills.
* Essential: Ability to work under pressure.
* Essential: Keyboard and basic IT skills.
* Essential: Organisational skills.
* Essential: Ability to think logically and problem‑solve.
