About the role
We're looking for a professional, competent and enthusiastic individual who can help protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of workers and the public across the Borough. You'll investigate complaints, inspect businesses, enforce health and safety legislation in local authority enforced premises, and support event safety planning.
In this varied and rewarding role, you'll:
* Investigate service requests including reportable injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences
* Use a range of enforcement tools to secure compliance.
* Advise businesses and the public.
* Support event safety and emergency planning.
* Contribute to public health campaigns using a range of interventions
* Assist with service improvements.
We're looking for someone who can combine strong technical skills with the confidence to engage with businesses, event organisers and the public. A flexible, problem-solving approach and knowledge of health and safety legislation will be key to success in this role.
