SEMH Primary Teacher - Bournemouth
SEMH specialist school
We are looking for a Therapeutic Primary Teacher for a specialist SEMH school in Bournemouth. The school caters for students who cannot access mainstream education and has a therapeutic approach to teaching and learning with an onsite team of Therapy staff. The class sizes are small (typically 7 pupils per class) and focus on students' individual needs.
The school is a special school supporting young people from the age of 5-11 who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, associated with a range of special educational needs, including autism.

* Therapeutic teaching approach
* Experience in teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
* Positive role model to support communication with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
* Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
* Ability to build solid and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students

Although experience teaching in SEMH specialist settings is beneficial, we would also love to hear from individuals interested in taking their first steps into SEND settings.
