Job Summary
We are seeking a Patient Services Coordinator in Radiology to develop operational services for diagnostic, cancer, unplanned and planned care metrics. The role involves change management, business planning, service delivery, performance management and service improvement. The Coordinator will lead, prioritise workloads, engage with teams, maintain line management responsibilities and support radiology staff across sites.
Previous experience in Radiology or a similar role is preferred. Flexible working is available as part of this role.
Responsibilities
* Manage speciality administration clerical staff to deliver services.
* Work closely with the Assistant Patient Services Coordinators, Cancer Pathway Manager and Business Managers to support and implement service developments and to manage diagnostic and RTT targets.
* Collaborate with the wider Radiology team, engaging with clinicians and lead radiographers.
* Prioritise work, develop staff, review working practices, and ensure effective communication structures.
* Lead the recruitment and selection of patient administration staff, ensuring induction and orientation.
* Carry out staff appraisals, compile personal development plans and support staff development opportunities.
* Implement trust attendance management policy and manage staff annual leave, sickness absence, capability and grievances.
* Ensure staff work cooperatively within and outside the Clinical Support Unit, promoting high‑quality service delivery.
* Take a lead role in reviewing and implementing new systems, ensuring the clerical team and medical secretariat function effectively.
* Maintain effective working relationships and good communication across all staff grades.
* Establish and maintain training plans, ensuring staff comply with policy, procedures and the use of electronic patient administration systems.
* Contribute to cover arrangements for annual leave, sickness and other absences.
Qualifications
* Good general standard of education.
* Management or supervisory qualification.
Experience
* Knowledge of Trust access policies and national rules on waiting times reporting.
* Knowledge of CRIS.
