We’re working with a welcoming specialist school in Durham who are looking for a 1:1 Behavioural Support Assistant to support a pupil with additional behavioural and emotional needs. What your day will look like Providing 1:1 behavioural and emotional support tailored to one pupil’s needs Helping the pupil stay regulated, engaged, and safe throughout the school day Supporting learning, routines, and transitions Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams Using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques Being that trusted adult who shows up, no matter what kind of morning it’s been This role could be a great fit if you Have experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs, SEND, SEMH, or trauma-related behaviours Stay calm under pressure and don’t take challenging behaviour personally Are patient, resilient, and big on empathy Believe relationships come before results Want a role where you’re genuinely valued, not overlooked School-based experience is ideal, but we’d also love to hear from people with relevant backgrounds in care, youth work, mentoring, or support work.
