Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and personable Apprentice to join our independent optometry practice as a Customer Service & Optical Assistant.
This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in optics and healthcare customer service. You will work on the reception desk as the first point of contact for patients while developing clinical and optical knowledge through structured training.
Alongside your day-to-day role, you will complete a recognised Customer Service Apprenticeship and be enrolled on the ABDO College Optical Assistant course, gaining industry-recognised knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcoming patients and providing a friendly first impression
* Answering telephone enquiries and booking appointments
* Preparing patient records and supporting clinic flow
* Handling payments and assisting with spectacle collections
* Assisting patients with frame selection
* Supporting contact lens administration and stock control
* Maintaining accurate patient records and practice systems
* Supporting the team with general reception and administrative duties
Responsibilities will grow as your training and confidence develop.
