Security Engineer
Join us as a Security Engineer at Barclays where you'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You'll harness cutting‑edge technology to revolutionise our digital offerings, ensuring unsurpassed customer experiences. The purpose of this role is to develop, implement and maintain solutions that support the safeguarding of the bank’s systems and sensitive information.
Key Accountabilities
* Build, deploy and maintain DLP services and policies.
* Drive service‑level incidents through to remediation.
* Create and maintain high‑quality documentation.
* Engage with stakeholders to prioritise requirements and set expectations.
* Collaborate with other DLP SMEs to ensure adequate service coverage across DLP tooling.
* Evaluate and implement technical changes and project deliverables.
* Engage product vendors where necessary for incident investigation and product enhancements.
Experience and Skills
* Strong understanding of the software security landscape: CVEs, CWEs, common software vulnerability types.
* Experience with SAST, SCA, and DAST, including their strengths and weaknesses.
* Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Java, Go).
* Experience with at least one major cloud provider (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
* REST API design and HTTP authentication.
* Linux shell scripting and automation (e.g. shell, Python).
* Experience with CI/CD.
* Experience with GraphQL.
Location
The role will be based out of our Knutsford or Glasgow campus.
Additional Accountabilities
* Provision of subject‑matter expertise on security systems and engineering patterns.
* Development and implementation of protocols, algorithms and software applications to protect sensitive data and systems.
* Management and protection of secrets, ensuring secure generation, storage and use.
* Execution of audits to monitor, identify and assess vulnerabilities in the bank’s infrastructure and software and support response to potential security breaches.
* Identification of advancements to support innovation and adoption of new cryptographic technologies and techniques.
* Collaboration across the bank, including developers and security teams, to ensure cryptographic solutions align with business objectives, security policies and regulatory requirements.
* Development / implementation and maintenance of Identity and Access Management solutions and systems.
