Soho House Greek Street…
Set within a Grade II-listed townhouse, the original Soho House at 40 Greek Street is where our story began in 1995. Almost three decades on, the club remains a round-the-clock member destination in the heart of Soho. 40 Greek Street retains many of its original features and includes outdoor spaces which can be found on the first and third floor, in addition to a rooftop terrace. There are three dining spaces, serving an all-day club menu from the house kitchen.
The Role…
The General Manager at Soho House will ensure that Soho House provides a warm, safe, secure, inclusive and transparent environment for all members, guests and team members at all times. The General Manager is ultimately responsible for the day to day running of the business, financial performance and member satisfaction, however the role is multi-faceted. The role requires the ability to demonstrate a professional approach, working with a range of managers both within the site as well as support teams including finance, people, membership and health and safety.
Main Duties…
19. Overseeing and driving of an inclusive environment that ensures every member and team member both feels and embodies the Soho House Pillars and Values
20. Implementing, overseeing and understanding the commercial viability of your business
21. Effective hands-on day to day management and problem solving both front and back of house operations
Performance standards
22. Ensuring all products delivered to members and guests are in line with the company specification. Highlighting and overseeing proactive training for all team members to ensure consistency
23. Demonstrating a commercial ability and awareness to both maximize and celebrate annual events
24. Work with HOD’s to ensure departmental budgets are met consistently
25. Ensure that all departments rotas are forecasted, costed and published in line with the company standards
26. To aim, achieve and maintain minimum 90% mystery shopper score in all departments
27. Ensure retention of team members in line with company standards
Management expectations and accountabilities
28. Responsibility for feedback, training and development of all managers working at the site.
29. Ensure that the site meets 100% completion yearly for annual reviews
30. Embody, display and proactively drive the companies Pillars and Values
31. Ensure that company policies and standards are maintained consistently by everyone working at the site
32. Ensure that any behaviour from either guests or team members that are not in line with the Soho House Pledge are called out and relevant follow up takes place
Scope of authority
33. Senior managers are key in driving products within their respective departments, both new and existing. The General Manager is ultimately responsible for; including and not limited to: food and beverage, accommodation, gym, events, spa and cinema within their site. As the General Manager there is an ultimate responsibility for consistency of deliverables for all products and services
34. Work cohesively with the Head of Operations or Operations Director and support teams on a range of projects and ensuring the ultimate completion for their site.
35. Ensure all team members are fully versed and display the expected behaviours to maintain an inclusive environment
36. Work with local People teams and the Diversity & Inclusion team to ensure the site is delivering and maintaining the Soho House Pledge
What we are looking for...
37. Up to 3-5 years’ experience in a busy hospitality venue within a General Management capacity
38. Innovator and influencer with previous experience managing F&B operations
39. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships (internal and external)
40. Strong attention to details
41. Excellent customer service
42. Fluent in English
43. Organised and reliable
44. Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team
45. Computer literacy within Opera, Micros and Adaco advantageous
46. Full understanding of local authority requirements
47. Personal license holder
48. SIA knowledge, understanding and experience
