Job Title: Domestic Cleaner & Supervisor
Location: Crewkerne, Somerset
Hours of Work: 6 hours per day (Monday to Friday) between 9am and 3pm – 30 hours per week
Salary: £15,000 per annum
Contract: Term Time only (with some holiday cleaning to be discussed at interview)
Role Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Domestic Cleaner & Supervisor to oversee and support a small team of cleaners at a prestigious site in Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational and supervisory skills who takes pride in maintaining high cleaning standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating and monitoring cleaning rotas for domestic staff to follow
- Supervising and supporting the cleaning team to ensure all areas are maintained to the required standard
- Responsibility for locking designated areas once cleaned (personally or by ensuring delegated staff complete this)
- Replenishing soaps, toilet rolls, and other supplies, and ensuring the team maintains stock levels
- Undertaking vacuuming, static cleaning, and mopping tasks where necessary, and ensuring staff follow correct procedures
- Managing cleaning equipment and materials within the designated area and ensuring it is cleaned and stored safely after use
- Ensuring all cleaning chemicals are used correctly and securely stored in locked cupboards
- Monitoring cleaning standards across the site, providing feedback, and reporting any issues to senior management
- Assisting in the induction and training of new cleaning staff, particularly in relation to Health & Safety and safe cleaning methods
- Ensuring all staff work in a safe manner, complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act and site policies
- Performing any reasonable request from senior management
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous cleaning experience essential; supervisory experience desirable
- Good organisational skills and the ability to coordinate a small team
- Ability to work flexibly, undertaking varied tasks as required
- Ability to work independently to set deadlines and to motivate and support others
- Understanding of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Awareness of Health & Safety regulations
