We are looking for someone to join our supported living team in Northallerton on a part-time, permanent basis, working 20 or 30 hours per week on waking night shifts. Shifts will be Monday to Friday, including weekends and bank holidays.
Are you a caring and enthusiastic individual? Do you love music or have an interest in trains? If so, this could be the role for you!
Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to work across various days and shift patterns, including some sleep-in shifts.
We understand the importance of your personal time, so your rota is prepared well in advance. If you have specific requests or plans, your manager will try to accommodate them.
If you have a positive attitude and want to make a difference in the lives of those with learning disabilities, we want to meet you! We offer support for your career progression and a range of employee benefits.
About our Service
We support three active gentlemen aged between 60-68, who have learning disabilities and are great friends. They live independent, fun, and active lifestyles, enjoying days out, train spotting, socialising, and seeing friends.
What does a Support Worker do?
1. Supporting independence – managing budgets, paying bills, housework, organising appointments, and preparing healthy meals.
2. Communication and relationship building – helping individuals understand the world around them and fostering positive relationships.
3. Community and social inclusion – supporting access to local community events and promoting life skills and individuality.
4. Personal care – assisting with daily routines, medication prompts, bathing, showering, and bathroom use. Not all roles involve high levels of personal care.
All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
Additional benefits include:
* 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time) and options for pension and holiday buying.
* Ongoing training and development opportunities.
* A supportive and inclusive work environment where your contributions are valued.
