About the Role You will lead a small, skilled engineering team supporting advanced automated production lines featuring robotics, automated cranes, and sophisticated packing systems. This is a varied role that combines leadership, technical expertise, and problem-solving, offering the opportunity to influence both day-to-day performance and long-term engineering strategy. Provide hands-on technical support and fault-finding when required. Drive improvements in reliability, efficiency, and safety across the unit. Act as the main point of contact for all engineering matters within the unit. Support and shape long-term engineering strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively with other departments on capital projects and innovation. What We’re Looking For Industry-recognised Engineering qualification or apprenticeship. Relevant Engineering Safety certification. Strong understanding of industrial mechanical plant and automated systems (food or FMCG highly desirable). Proven, hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to motivate and develop others. Confident balancing hands-on involvement with strategic planning and decision-making. Flexible, pragmatic, and calm under pressure.
