Job Purpose
TheCleaning Supervisor will assist the General Services Manager in the day-to-daymanagement of cleaning operations to ensure effective service delivery, fullcompliance with health and safety legislation, and adherence to the client’sspecifications. This role involves supervising a team of cleaning operatives,upholding high standards, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all teammembers.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure cleaning rotas are adequately staffed and team members are clear on their responsibilities.
* Implement and adhere to safe systems of work and all relevant health and safety procedures.
* Monitor and ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the required on-site standards.
* Maintain a full working knowledge of all cleaning areas and ensure these are consistently upheld.
* Follow all client and company policies and procedures at all times.
* Promote and maintain high standards of professionalism, conduct, and operational efficiency.
* Foster consistent and effective team communication.
* Perform cleaning duties as required to support the team and service delivery.
* Report maintenance faults promptly using the correct procedures.
* Attend mandatory training courses to stay up to date with legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Undertake any miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Senior Cleaning Supervisor or General Services Manager.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Proven supervisory experience, ideally within a cleaning or facilities environment.
* Strong people management and leadership abilities.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet operational needs.
* Solid knowledge of the cleaning industry and best practices.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Competent in using computers and common software ( email, rotas, reporting).
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
