Transport Planner About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Transport Planner to take the lead in coordinating and optimising daily transport operations. This is a hands-on role where you'll ensure goods move efficiently, schedules run smoothly, and customers receive outstanding service. What You'll Do
Organise and oversee day-to-day transport activities to guarantee timely deliveries.
Use transport planning tools and dispatch systems to create efficient routes and allocate resources.
Act as the key point of contact for customers, ensuring service standards are consistently exceeded.
Work closely with drivers, suppliers, and depots to maintain seamless communication across the network.
Keep accurate records and manage essential administrative tasks within the transport office.
Identify opportunities to improve pallet utilisation and reduce operational costs.
Monitor performance metrics and resolve issues quickly to maintain high service levels.
Approach challenges with a proactive mindset and deliver practical solutions. What We're Looking For
Proven experience in a Transport Planner role.
Strong understanding of transport management systems and route planning software.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a problem-solving approach.
Ability to manage priorities and work effectively under pressure. Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00-17:00 or 8:00-18:00
Salary: Starting from £32,500 per year (dependent on experience)
