We are looking for a Senior (or Advanced) Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Plug & Play team. This role focuses on delivering standardised, repeatable structural solutions for large infrastructure projects.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll ensure appropriate civil and structural advice is provided to the project team so that standard solutions are implemented correctly on site.
* Lead and develop civil/structural designs, focusing on foundations (shallow and deep) and reinforced concrete and steel structures.
* Deliver solutions from concept through to detailed design.
* Undertake structural calculations, checks, and design assurance.
* Use CAD, digital tools, structural analysis, and design software.
Technical Leadership
* Review and challenge designs from external consultants.
* Ensure compliance with Eurocodes, British Standards, and project specifications.
* Provide pragmatic, problem‑solving input for complex engineering challenges.
* Design for optimisation within the limits of standards.
* Improve designs based on lessons learned, performance, and cost efficiency.
* Support development of design manuals and technical standards.
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and suppliers.
* Ensure designs are buildable, safe, and suited to site conditions.
* Support installation, commissioning, and product implementation.
* Identify and manage structural and construction risks.
* Apply Health & Safety (CDM) and durability/performance considerations.
What we’re looking for
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* Experience with foundations and ground‑bearing systems.
* Experience with reinforced concrete slabs and structural elements for infrastructure projects.
* Strong working knowledge of Eurocodes and UK design standards.
* Proficiency in structural analysis and design tools.
* Experience reviewing and coordinating consultant designs.
* Proven ability to solve problems and drive practical solutions.
Level
* Ideally Senior Engineer, but strong Advanced Engineers will also be considered.
