Hard Services Manager
Salary: Up to £60,000
Role Overview:
The Hard Services Manager will act as the regional point of contact for all technical service delivery across multiple sites. This role is responsible for ensuring the effective execution of maintenance activities (planned, corrective, and reactive), providing leadership to engineering teams, managing compliance, and supporting continuous improvement in technical service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Act as the primary point of contact for all hard services and technical activities, providing support across a wide range of engineering services.
 * Lead and oversee a team of technicians to deliver hard services through self-performed and subcontracted works.
 * Assess and authorise technicians for non-complex low voltage work as required.
 * Manage specialist subcontractors, ensuring all work complies with legislative and client health, safety, and environmental standards.
 * Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance performance and service delivery.
 * Support the delivery of small project works, including the development of technical solutions and quotations.
 * Identify opportunities for increased scope and value-added services within the FM contract.
 * Support the management of technical service delivery across all sites, ensuring high standards and compliance.
 * Conduct incident reviews, root cause analysis, and collaborate with the QHSE team on corrective actions.
 * Manage life cycle assessment and capital planning processes in partnership with the account and asset management teams.
 * Oversee the asset registration process and maintain accurate data within CMMS systems.
 * Support training and competency assessments for engineering teams and newly installed assets.
 * Apply value engineering principles to ensure best practice and cost efficiency across service delivery.
Experience & Skills Required:
 * Proven operational experience within facilities management or technical service delivery.
 * Strong computer literacy, including experience with CMMS and related engineering/financial systems.
 * Excellent understanding of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) requirements.
 * Analytical, organised, and detail-oriented, with strong planning and prioritisation skills.
 * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and technical guidance.
 * Ability to interpret and modify engineering drawings, switching schedules, and maintenance documentation.
 * Demonstrated understanding of maintenance processes, work order management, and planning/scheduling systems.
 * Capable of providing familiarisation training and support to wider teams.
Qualifications & Competencies:
 * Recognised Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
 * Qualified Approved Electrician or Mechanical Engineer.
 * Experience as an Authorised or Approved Person (HV/LV).
 * Pressure Systems and/or Confined Space qualifications (advantageous).
 * Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
 * Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety compliance with a recognised H&S qualification.
