This school is looking for an experienced Mental Health Worker starting as soon as possible.
The role as a Mental Health Worker
Your role will involve supporting the class teacher with general class duties, helping prepare lesson materials, and supporting students with their mental health needs. You will provide 1:1 support, encourage emotional regulation, and assist during lessons.
Your day as a Mental Health Worker will look like this
* Supporting students with their mental health, helping them process and understand their emotions.
* Providing support in small groups or 1 to 1.
* Working alongside the class teacher to create a safe, engaging learning environment.
* De‑escalating high emotions and helping students regulate.
* Assisting the class teacher to prepare lesson materials and maintain classroom tidiness.
The successful Mental Health Worker
* Confident
* Compassionate and positive personality
* Proactive, taking initiative
* Strong problem‑solving skills
* Able to de‑escalate heightened emotions
* Possessing an enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
* Understanding of the importance of mental health support
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in education, counselling or psychology.
