Lead Business Analyst (Travel)

Location: Folkestone Hybrid (working 3 days a week from the office)

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum (Permanent)

Overview – As our Lead Business Analyst within Saga’s Travel Business you will be responsible for analysing requirements of new or changed product and systems offerings or strategic change to any part of the travel business and undertaking process reviews and re-engineering, including implementation.


Role Responsibilities

* Lead as a Business Analyst on projects, planning the business analysis effort, determining how requirements will be managed and providing structured, documented requirements that support both business and technical teams.
* Elicit, interpret, and translate business requirements from change owners and subject‑matter experts into requirement documentation for use in change delivery through sprint cycles and other change methodologies across the Travel Business.
* Engineering requirements to ensure relevance, accuracy, validation and sign‑off before passing to technical analysis, development and test.
* Assist with business case development and solution modelling where appropriate.
* Create a centre of excellence for requirements.
* Facilitate effective workshops and meetings using smart questioning to draw out requirements, options, and outcomes.
* Identify system and operational process gaps, proactively raise them to relevant departments, support creation of change requests and look for improvement opportunities.
* Maintain and enhance key relationships with Change community, Development, Project and Change Teams.
* Manage multiple concurrent projects through strong organisation and time management.
* Effectively manage stakeholder expectations around scope, delivery and timescales.
* Raise actions, risks, issues and decisions for appropriate documentation and update in accordance with best practice Change Management.
* Report and track progress across assigned projects, identifying and escalating blockers as necessary.
* End‑to‑end management of change as assigned.


The Ideal Candidate

Proven experience working as a senior or lead business analyst within the travel industry, with airline experience considered a plus.


Skills and Experience Required

* Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
* Excellent communication at all levels.
* Curiosity, inquisitive nature and willingness to challenge where appropriate.
* Track record of precision.
* Proficiency with Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio/DRAW.IO (or similar).
* Experience in mentoring, guidance and support responsibilities.
* Relevant toolkit and minimum level 4 Business Analyst qualification; Lean Six Sigma experience an advantage.
* Experience gathering and documenting requirements.
* Process modelling experience.
