About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant in the early years classroom, you'll play an important role in supporting children with autism as they explore, learn, and grow. You'll help adapt learning activities to meet individual needs, encourage positive social interaction, and contribute to a classroom culture built on patience, understanding, and inclusion.
Early Years Teaching Assistant Duties:
Giving personalised, support throughout the school day
Using creativity and patience to make learning fun and accessible
Helping with communication, emotional regulation, and building friendships
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and family to ensure consistency
Supporting personal care needs with dignity and kindnessIdeal Early Years Teaching Assistant:
Experience with autism or additional needs is a bonus-but heart and dedication matter most
A calm, positive nature and willingness to learn
Great communication skills and a team mindset
Ability to follow EHCPs and behaviour support strategies
