Job Description Manufacturing/Repair Engineer - Implementation An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer - External Supply Chain to join the Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Organisation, based in Derby. As part of our drive to make the business more sustainable, we are expanding our repair team. This role will be integral to delivering greater repair capability this increasing the amount of repaired parts in our products. The MRO business is global You will have the opportunity to work with Rolls-Royce's broad portfolio of MRO bases across the globe to deliver new repair capability, continuous improvement and operational support. In this role you will be expected to assume a broad range of responsibilities, including: Own the technical/engineering relationship for a specific repair supplier(s) Manage the supplier relationship and work with your supplier(s) to implement repair capability and drive continuous improvement Provide technical guidance to ensure quality of repair industrialisation including guidance through the First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) Process Be a champion for zero defects and process improvement Represent the manufacturing engineering function for sourcing decisions Perform root cause analysis and problem solving where issues arise Key experience/qualifications: Degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering or equivalent discipline Strong problem-solving background Willingness to learn Ability to use standard digital tools: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio. PowerBI would be an advantage. An ability to communicate well within diverse teams and across different levels of seniority within a business, both within and external to the business and adapt communication style appropriately. Ability to plan and lead projects Basic knowledge of engineering drawings Knowledge of manufacturing processes Desirable: Knowledge of the FAIR process, AS9102, AS13100, RM13003 Appreciation/qualification in Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) Data cleaning, manipulation and analysis and/or programming experience Part 145 appreciation International and national travel will be required as part of this role.
