Spectrum Geosurvey specialises in coastal geophysical surveys, supporting a wide range of clients in the offshore renewables sector.
We have a proven track record in delivering high-quality hydrographic and geophysical survey data.
This role offers the opportunity to develop your skill set and work on various tasks within our company:
* Mobilising vessels, including survey equipment installation, interfacing, calibration and verification
* Planning and undertaking hydrographic surveys
* Calibrating and maintaining survey equipment
* Developing and documenting survey procedures
* Processing and charting large area bathymetric datasets
* Compiling concise and accurate survey reports for clients
* Assisting project managers with survey projects
* Researching new technologies and arranging system/software trials
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Hydrography, Marine Geography, Marine Sciences or a related field
* At least 3 years' experience in the offshore surveying industry
* Working knowledge of hydrographic multibeam systems, motion reference units, side scan sonar and magnetometer systems
* Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
* A strong marine background
* High attention to detail and documentation skills
* The ability to take initiative and work independently
* A full valid UK driving licence
Desired but Not Essential Skills and Qualifications
We are also looking for candidates with:
* Project management experience
* Previous work experience using hydrographic software, such as QINSy, Teledyne PDS or Caris HIPS & SIPS
* Knowledge of hydrographic survey planning and reporting
* Experience creating charts, such as QGIS and ArcGIS
* Experience with scripting languages, such as Python
