Due to promotions, we offer a fantastic opportunity for a Band 6 or experienced Band 5 nurse to start or further develop clinical research skills. Previous experience with clinical research projects and SACT competency is desirable. You should be a team player and effective at managing your own time.
This role involves a combination of clinical and research responsibilities within a diverse research portfolio. You will be a point of contact for study principal investigators, sponsors, and patients, requiring excellent communication and teamwork skills.
You will work at two of our Units – the Guy’s Phase I Unit and the St. Thomas’ Cardiometabolic Unit. Your work patterns will be coordinated with your Line Manager and may include day shifts, early and late shifts, night duties, and weekends, as necessary to ensure patient safety and trial delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate research nursing care.
2. Support patients attending the department who are involved in or eligible for clinical trials.
3. Ensure research is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant regulations.
4. Facilitate high-quality recruitment and management of clinical studies and trials.
5. Act as a patient advocate, providing support and assistance.
6. Supervise the safe administration of experimental therapies and monitor side effects.
7. Coordinate and manage a portfolio of early-phase translational clinical research.
