This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about strategic asset management and making a tangible difference within the community. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Council’s diverse property estate, ensuring that all operational, commercial, and community assets are managed effectively and contribute positively to the Council’s long-term objectives. You will work closely with senior management, directors, and stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that property-related decisions are strategically aligned with the Council’s broader business objectives and long-term asset management plans. Your professional expertise will directly support key initiatives across the city, particularly those connected to economic regeneration and urban development. These include some of Stoke-on-Trent’s flagship projects, such as The Goods Yard, the Smithfield development, and the revitalisation of the historic Spode site. In addition to supporting these transformative regeneration efforts, you will also play a pivotal role in advancing the Council’s housing agenda. This includes working on new development schemes aimed at increasing the volume and quality of housing stock available across the city. Your input will help ensure that these projects are delivered in a way that supports sustainable growth and meets the evolving needs of Stoke-on-Trent’s residents. About Us The Corporate Property Team at Stoke-on-Trent City Council is responsible for the strategic management and professional oversight of one of the most diverse and valuable property portfolios in the region, with assets totalling approximately £533 million in value. This wide-ranging estate includes a mixture of commercial and community-focused properties such as Grade-A office buildings, industrial estates, retail units, public parks, children’s centres, enterprise hubs, grazing land, and a variety of community-use buildings. As an Estates Surveyor, you will play a central role in ensuring these assets are efficiently managed and fully utilised to deliver value to both the Council and the local community. You will contribute to the identification and implementation of property solutions that enhance the operational efficiency of the estate and support the delivery of wider Council services.
