Responsibilities: We manage and maintain secure on-premise and cloud-based test and development environments. We build, configure, and administer Windows and Linux virtual machines. We install, configure, and secure laptops and user devices in line with MOD security standards. We administer Active Directory environments and user access controls. We support secure remote access solutions for authorised users. We ensure infrastructure availability, performance, and resilience across development and test environments. We perform vulnerability management, patching, and security assurance activities. We maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and architecture diagrams. We support deployable CIS capabilities for exercises and operational activities. We assist with the deployment and integration of emerging digital technologies, including AI and Large Language Model environments. We troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, system, and connectivity issues. We work closely with engineers, developers, and stakeholders across the programme. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting a mixture of on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and resilient environments are available for development, testing, and operational activities. The role is based in Blandford, Dorset, primarily onsite with some hybrid working available, and has a duration of 9 months starting on 1st July 2026.
