Disrepair Surveyor
Day Rate: £300-£350 per day (DOE)
Contract: 6+ months (potential extension/permanent)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Location: 4 days on site + 1 day WFH
DBS: Basic (required)
Driving: Yes - council vehicle provided
About the Role
We are recruiting multiple Disrepair Surveyors to join a high‑performing and well‑established Disrepair Team. Reporting to the Disrepair Manager, you will play a key role in managing disrepair cases from initial inspection through to completion, ensuring tenants receive an excellent standard of service and all works meet quality, compliance, and safety requirements.
This is an ideal opportunity for Surveyors or Supervisors with strong property maintenance experience looking to step into (or further develop within) disrepair.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out property inspections and diagnose building defects
Specify required works and raise orders to contractors
Project‑manage disrepair cases end-to-end
Complete pre‑inspections, work‑in‑progress visits, and post‑inspections
Manage and monitor contractor performance
Oversee Health & Safety compliance on all works
Liaise with tenants throughout the process, ensuring clear communication and support
Coordinate temporary decants where required
Work collaboratively with internal departments including Legal and Tenancy teams
Be site‑based 4 days per week with 1 hybrid office/home‑based day
Candidate Requirements
Disrepair experience preferred but not essential - full training provided
Proven experience in property maintenance or building surveying
Good technical knowledge of building pathology
Experience managing major repairs (desirable)
Social Housing sector experience (desirable)
Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation
Excellent communication and customer engagement skills
Confident using Outlook; training provided for Teams, Excel, SharePoint & internal systems
Strong commercial awareness
Full UK driving licence
Basic DBS required
