Overview
The Head Housekeeper at Avery Healthcare's Chorleywood Manor Care Home will lead a dedicated team in providing housekeeping and laundry services to support the overall care of residents.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the housekeeping and laundry cleaning service to ensure a high‑quality, comprehensive care service is delivered to residents.
* Carry out all cleaning duties as per the housekeeping job description.
* Prepare orders for Home Manager approval for all cleaning materials, ensuring compliance with procedures, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and purchasing good‑quality products within budget limits.
* Monitor standards of work of the housekeeping and laundry team to maintain high cleanliness standards.
* Supervise and direct the work of the housekeeping team, providing instruction and demonstration to new staff on cleaning tasks and materials.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience in cleaning and managing laundry in a public setting.
* Knowledge of health and safety, including moving and handling techniques, fire safety, and COSHH assessments.
* Demonstrated compassion and commitment to delivering high‑quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
* Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
* DBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
