This is an exciting opportunity to transfer directly to our Roads Policing Unit. Working from one of three bases, you will join a team of dynamic officers tasked with delivering to force and departmental priorities.

This is a unique opportunity to join Roads Policing and work within the Joint Operations Unit, one of the largest collaborative units in England & Wales.
Roads Policing aligns with the National Roads Policing Strategy — focusing on preventing harm, saving lives, fighting crime, and driving innovation. Our focus includes incident response, reducing collisions, investigations, disrupting criminals, and supporting local policing.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering high-quality public service across the road network and communities.
* Providing 24-hour response to incidents across the strategic road network and districts.
* Investigating serious injury and fatal collisions; roles may include Investigating Officer or Family Liaison Officer.
* Using intelligence to target offences and offenders.
* Developing specialist skills through training and maintaining them for support roles.
* Focusing enforcement on high-risk roads as directed.
* Conducting effective, intelligence-led patrols in partnership with internal and external agencies.
* Promoting public confidence through victim-focused investigations and communication.

Essential Experience and Qualifications
* Serving police officer from a Home Office Force with no current performance or conduct concerns.
* Completed the two-year probationary period and Policing Diploma or equivalent.
* Trained and authorized to COP Advanced Driving level.
* Trained and authorized in Tactical Pursuit and Containment.
* Qualified to ride police motorcycles is especially welcomed.
Additional requirements
Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria, pass pre-employment checks, and attend a 6-day Hampshire and IOW Familiarisation course. After acceptance, the force will coordinate with your current employer regarding pension, salary, and service records.
