Job Summary
Crown Commercial Service has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to join the Data and Insights team. The role will require engagement with all levels of the business, and with key strategic external customers, to define requirements and embed best practise around data standards and the use of data. The role holder will be responsible for translating business needs into a robust and sustainable data architecture that leverages the full suite of technology solutions to provide intelligence to the organisation.
Key Accountabilities:
* Strategy & Architecture: Delivering the data strategy, improving Data Architecture, and ensuring data models, Data Warehouse Structures, and API interfaces are robust and scalable.
* BI & Implementation: Supporting the implementation of third-party Business Intelligence solutions, establishing technical standards for interoperability, and having oversight of related projects.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Working with Data Infrastructure and Data Insights teams, as well as operational customers, to deliver "Business Intelligence as a service" with excellence. Essential Criteria (to be assessed at application stage):
* Understanding of Data Warehousing administration and development with specific emphasis on Azure Data Warehouse, SQL and the wider suite of Azure tools.
* Understanding of the development and management of API integrations (Experience with Salesforce, Workday and bespoke solutions).
* Experience in delivering against defined business needs and implementing innovative solutions to meet those needs and ensure data quality is maintained and enriched.
* Experience in data model development and system design.
Desirable criteria (In the event of a high number of applications, the desirable criteria will be used as a second sift):
* Appreciation of the Business Intelligence marketplace and the capabilities of BI tools.
* Experience of working across a variety of data projects simultaneously.

CCS is a flexible business with a smarter working model where our colleagues benefit from a mix of home and office working. Successful candidates are expected to work from one of the office locations listed. Our current office attendance approach requires a minimum of 26 days per quarter (approx 2 days per week, which may be subject to change) in CCS office locations or off site meetings with suppliers, customers, partners, networking / industry events. This is pro rata for those who work part time. Our smarter working principles mean that our people have the advantage of both office and offsite based collaboration and learning, as well as working from home. CCS operates a smarter working model that balances flexibility with meaningful collaboration. Successful candidates will spend at least 26 days per quarter (approximately 2 days per week, pro-rata) working from either their contracted office, another CCS site, or off-site for meetings and events.
