Are you a pharmacist keen to develop your clinical pharmacy and prescribing skills in a forward-thinking and supportive environment? The cancer pharmacist team in NHS Forth Valley are an integral part of non-medical prescribing clinics five days per week across various tumour types. We are looking for a pharmacist to join our team as a secondment or fixed term to cover the current post holder’s maternity leave.
An exciting fixed-term/secondment opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will aid in delivering and developing the clinical pharmacy service to inpatient haematology and to oncology/haematology outpatients. This role has a fixed commitment to oncology/haematology, with opportunities to contribute to service developments locally and within the West of Scotland Cancer Network. Specialist knowledge of this patient group is desirable but comprehensive training will be provided.
We seek a specialist practitioner with the necessary therapeutic knowledge, practical skills, and diverse experience to provide high-quality, patient-centred care. Good team working and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to contribute effectively to service development, ensuring the service’s continued success and adaptability to healthcare challenges. A pharmacist prescribing qualification is desirable but not essential.
Forth Valley Royal Hospital Pharmacy Department is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility. The department and hospital are progressive, embracing electronic and robotic solutions including HEPMA, and strive to deliver high-quality pharmacy services.
Participation in on-call, weekend, and late-night rotas is expected. Applications for part-time working will be considered.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout the service delivery area are essential.
