Operations Manager – Coatbridge
We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead a high‑volume manufacturing site and drive performance across people, process, quality, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
You will oversee multi‑shift operations with around 270 colleagues and a team of operational managers. The focus is on delivering safe, efficient, high‑quality production while improving labour utilisation, reducing downtime, and strengthening operational flow. As the site continues to scale, you’ll play a key role in developing robust systems, introducing automation, and leading cultural and operational change.
What You’ll Do
You’ll build a high‑performing, engaged team, coaching managers and driving a culture of accountability. You’ll ensure production meets plan, right product, right quality, right time, while championing Lean thinking, waste reduction, and performance improvement. You’ll maintain strong compliance across quality, health & safety, and technical standards, supported by meaningful data and KPIs. You’ll also lead change initiatives that modernise the site and support future growth.
What You’ll Bring
You’re an experienced operational leader from a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing environment. You have a strong track record improving labour efficiency, equipment performance, and quality, with the ability to lead large teams and manage continuous improvement activity. You’re data‑driven, resilient, a strong communicator, and comfortable navigating change. Experience with automation, unionised environments, product mix operations, or NPD is beneficial but not essential.
