Head of Customer Supply Chain

FMCG Giant – Global Market Leader

Hybrid – 3 days per week in Kingston‑Upon‑Thames

£110,000 + 15% bonus

I'm partnering with a highly respected global FMCG organisation to hire a dynamic, relationship‑focused Head of Customer Supply Chain. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering a world‑class end‑to‑end service experience for major retail partners.

About the role

As Head of Customer Supply Chain, you will be the strategic interface between key retail customers and the internal Supply Chain, Commercial, and Customer Development functions. You will develop senior-level partnerships with retail supply chain leaders, deeply understand their priorities, and drive service excellence across forecasting, availability, delivery, and operational collaboration.

You will lead and develop a team of Customer Collaboration Specialists, ensuring exceptional service delivery while championing continuous improvement across customer operations.

This role is highly visible within the organisation and plays a critical part in shaping customer strategy which makes it a strong succession role for Director, Customer Supply Chain.

What you’ll do

* Build and strengthen strategic relationships with senior supply chain and commercial stakeholders across major retailers.
* Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing Customer Collaboration / Customer Experience team, which is a team of 4.
* Own and improve critical service KPIs, including delivery performance, invoice accuracy, claims resolution, forecast accuracy, and on-shelf availability.
* Develop a deep understanding of customer processes, constraints, and culture to identify opportunities to enhance service and reduce cost‑to‑serve.
* Bring powerful customer insight into the business, ensuring customer needs shape internal priorities and decision‑making.
* Partner with Customer Development to align customer input into forecasting, promotional planning, and joint business plans.
* Contribute to the broader Customer Operations strategy and play a key role in enterprise-wide improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for

* Strong experience across Supply Chain disciplines (Forecasting, Demand Planning, Logistics, Customer Operations).
* Experience managing the relationship with retail partners such as Sainsbury's. Tesco, Co-Op, Waitrose, Boots.
* Excellent analytical capability; able to translate data into insight, actions, and improved performance.
* A confident, motivating people leader with a proven ability to coach and elevate team capability.
* Experience managing a team of 3/4 people before.
* Outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
* Curious, proactive mindset with a passion for understanding customer challenges and industry dynamics.
* Comfortable working with modern systems, digital tools, and analytics solutions.
