Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - SEMH
We are working with a specialist SEN school in Dover that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a structured, therapeutic environment for students who may have experienced trauma, struggled in mainstream education, or display challenging behaviour.
They are seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant to join their team and make a real difference.
The Role: Learning Support Assistant
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support engagement and progress
* Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
* Work alongside teaching staff to deliver tailored learning and intervention plans
* Help create a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate: Learning Support Assistant
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or challenging backgrounds (school-based or transferable experience)
* Calm, resilient, and able to de-escalate challenging situations
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
* A proactive and positive attitude
* Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
