Are you looking for a fulfilling role that makes a positive impact in your local community? At Carr Gomm, we are offering a unique opportunity to become a part time Support Practitioner in our Home Respite service and make a real impact in the lives of both carers and their loved ones.

About Us:

Carr Gomm is a leading social care and community development charity. Our service in Inverness provides respite breaks to people with caring responsibilities. We believe in the power of person-centred support and the importance of ensuring that carers have the chance to take a break when needed. Our support helps to keep people in their own homes, surrounded by familiarity and comfort.

The Role:

As a Support Practitioner, you’ll be the helping hand that carers rely on. Your role involves providing respite care for 1-5 hours at a time, allowing carers the well-deserved break they need. With an impressive 5-star rating from the Care Inspectorate, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of care and support. We strive for excellence in everything that we do, and our Support Practitioners play a vital role in maintaining these high standards. We value flexibility, and our support visits can be tailored to work around your other commitments, whether it’s childcare, studies, or other responsibilities.

Who We are Looking For:

We are looking for caring individuals who have a genuine passion for making a positive impact in their community. You do not need professional experience to join us. We provide comprehensive induction training to all new team members. Drivers are preferred, as our service extends to rural communities.

Eligibility:

We welcome applications from any candidates already eligible to work in the UK or those that can apply for a visa granting permission to work in the UK (e.g. dependent visas, ancestry etc.) that do not require sponsorship from Carr Gomm. You will be asked to share proof of this prior to receiving any offer of employment. It is currently our policy not to offer sponsorship for prospective candidates.

Why Join Carr Gomm:

You’ll be part of a supportive team that values your contributions and helps you grow in your role. Our benefits include:

* Anti-social hours payment of up to £1241 per annum when undertaking waking night shift (11pm-7am)
* Time and a half payment for hours worked over 37.5 hours per week (averaged over the pay period)
* Enhanced mileage payment of 45p per mile
* 35 days’ holiday per year, increasing to 40 days with length of service.
* £200 Recommend a Friend Scheme (T&Cs apply).
* Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, and sick leave
* A Defined Contribution pension scheme, with incremental employer contributions
* Free Blue Light Card (giving access to thousands of discounts and promotions)
* Access to the Carr Gomm App: which includes free physiotherapy, health coaching and counselling.
* Membership of a credit union
* Cycle to work scheme; and more!

Apply Today:

Applying to join our team as a Support Practitioner is quick and straightforward. Our online application processes typically takes 10-15 minutes to complete. We will ask for some essential details, including information on your previous employment, SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) registration and PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Group) membership.

The application page will open in a new window.
