Job Description

This job is workstyle 1 - Fixed.

In this workstyle, most of your time is spent undertaking the direct delivery of front-line services work. Depending on your role, there may be a limited requirement to access a specific council location during the course of the working week if you are not delivering your service at a council location.

Angus Council currently operates the following models in their early learning and childcare settings:

1. ELC Model 1 - children's funded entitlement is 190 set days at 6 hours per day
2. ELC Model 2 - children's funded entitlement is 152 set days at 7½ hours per day
3. ELC Model 3 - children's funded entitlement is 228 set days at 5 hours per day

Settings in models 1 and 2 will open over term-time. Model 3 settings are open for more hours daily and are only closed for two weeks over Christmas/New Year, three weeks in July/August, and additional public holidays and in-service days, totaling 46.6 weeks of operation per year. Staff in these settings can also apply for additional time off while the setting is open, with some leave scheduled in advance.

You will work peripatetically across two early learning and childcare centres: Abbey View ELCC (ELC Model 1) in Arbroath and Monifieth ELCC (ELC Model 3). Your base location will be Abbey View ELCC, Arbroath.

Working 36.25 hours per week across various patterns from Monday to Friday, your working year comprises 251 days, based on a total of 261 days per annum with 10 unpaid non-working days.

Your entitlement is incorporated within the salary and salary scale.

You will provide management and support for children and staff within the ELCCs, ensuring high-quality, flexible, and accessible early learning and childcare services aligned with policies, procedures, and current guidance.

Membership of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or a commitment to gain registration is essential.

A full, current driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.

Interviews will be held on Monday, 2 June 2025.

Requirements

You must have the ability to become a member of the PVG Scheme.
