We have an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Options & Wellbeing team, as a Team Leader. You will be part of a team that delivers best practice with the opportunity to shape services that we deliver. We are looking for a dynamic self-starter with experience in housing options and homelessness to join our team.
You will lead and supervise a team of Senior Housing Options Officers, utilising your knowledge and experience to support the team to deliver a high-quality Housing Options service. You will be responsible for ensuring the team complies with its statutory duties under the Housing legislative framework and to support their personal development. The team are responsible for assessing housing need, providing housing advice and assistance, issuing 184 decisions, multi-agency working to prevent and relieve homelessness.
You will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be organised, adaptable and able to prioritise competing demands. Every day is different, and you will make a difference to people who are in crisis points in their life by ensuring high standards of customer service.
You will work from our prevention HUB in Eastbourne, where we deliver a best practice model co-locating with key partners to prevent homelessness, and other locations within the Lewes District and Eastbourne town, with the opportunity for some home working. You will support the wider ongoing development of joint-working partnerships with other key agencies, with plenty of opportunity for training and personal development.
As well as possessing excellent time management and communication skills, you should be resilient and committed to delivering excellent customer service. You must have an understanding of the range of support needs of homeless clients.
Knowledge and experience in housing options and homelessness are essential, as is a thorough working knowledge of the relevant Acts.
