Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. MRCOG or appropriate specialist registration
2. ATSM Benign abdominal surgery: open and laparoscopic
3. ATSM Advanced Labour Ward practice
4. Full GMC registration
5. Relevant CCT or equivalent (‘equivalence’ must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
6. Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
Desirable criteria
7. MD, PhD or equivalent
8. ATSM Benign gynaecological surgery: hysteroscopy
9. Scanning qualification
10. Qualification in Medical education
11. Management qualification or current study towards
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
12. Broad based training in O&G and its subspecialties
13. Competency as evidenced by training portfolios, previous jobs and references
14. Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff
15. Understanding the principles of clinical governance and its implications
16. Knowledge of finance/budgets
17. Ability to organise research and work within research governance procedures
18. Understanding and experience of audit
19. Knowledge of research methodology
Desirable criteria
20. NHS experience within the last 3 years
21. Speciality interests
22. Evidence of service audit, design or change management
23. Training in research methodology
24. Publications in peer review journals
25. Ability to implement and develop research projects
