Are you a patient-focused problem solver with customer service and IT skills?
Would you like a working pattern that includes evenings and weekends?
If so, this could be the role for you!
The Urgent Care Service provides cover for GP Out of Hours and Minor Injuries across Oxfordshire.
This role is offered on a part-time basis, from a minimum of 22.5 hours per week up to full-time 37.5 hours per week. Evening, weekend, and bank holiday work is required.
Shifts will be across the 6 bases of the service (Abingdon, Bicester, Banbury, Oxford, Witney, Henley), considering distance. Main shifts currently available are overnights in Banbury and Oxford (23:00-08:00), with several weekend and evening shifts available around the county.
The cover needed is between 18:15 and 08:00 every day, and from 18:15 on Friday to 08:00 on Monday (or the day after a bank holiday), with shifts of 5 hours, extendable up to 13 hours. The overnight period starts at 23:00 and ends at 08:00. There may be additional shifts during the day in the MIUs to cover holidays and sickness of relevant receptionists, with extra shifts available via NHSP.
The role is dual, requiring both reception and driving skills. Day and evening shifts involve both reception and driving, while night shifts require covering both roles (reception, administrative duties, and driving the GP/Clinician for home visits).
* Undertake general administrative and reception work in MIU, FAU, and GP OOH as required.
* Ensure consulting rooms and reception areas are tidy and adequately equipped at the start and end of each shift, including shredding all patients' notes.
* Liaise with the Duty Desk Administrator and the Patient Flow Coordinator to ensure a safe, efficient, patient-centered service.
* Answer phone calls, including the HCP line and the EOL line, and add patients to the system when required.
* Ensure medications and prescriptions are kept secure at all times and escalate concerns to the Urgent Care Coordinator.
