Overview
Mechanical Engineer position on a highly regulated COMAH site in Warrington. This role supports a well-established maintenance team known for quality, precision and high standards. Location: Warrington
Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (Days-only)
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across all site equipment.
* Work on tanks, vessels, pumps, filling systems, valves and blending equipment.
* Strip, inspect, and rebuild relief valves, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
* Install and maintain tanks and associated pipework to support production operations.
* Diagnose faults, prioritise maintenance tasks, and minimise downtime.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on plant reliability and performance.
* Participate in engineering projects including commissioning, installations, and equipment relocations.
* Work to high standards on a COMAH-regulated site, ensuring full compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
* Record and log maintenance activities accurately using the CMMS.
* Perform TIG welding on site equipment and pipework as required to maintain and repair critical components (if able).
About You:
* Apprentice trained or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Experience within a chemical or COMAH-regulated manufacturing environment.
* Proven background in mechanical maintenance or multi-skilled engineering.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
* Keen to learn and develop professionally – the company is willing to invest and train the right person to a high standard.
