Phlebotomist (Bank) – The Chiltern Hospital
Bank shifts. Salary: Up to £12.53 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).
The Chiltern Hospital, in Great Missenden, is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis. You will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties
* Perform venepuncture procedures safely and accurately in accordance with clinical protocols.
* Provide reassurance and support to patients, using a calm and professional approach to reduce anxiety or discomfort.
* Identify patients correctly using established safety protocols and confirm tests required prior to blood draw.
* Label all specimens clearly and accurately, ensuring correct patient details and test requirements.
* Prepare, package, and transport samples in line with pathology protocols, infection prevention guidance, and safety standards.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
* Minimum of 1 year experience in Phlebotomy in a healthcare or clinical setting.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
* Understanding of infection prevention, patient identification procedures, and specimen handling.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
