Position Details
Therapy Services - WGH
Band 6 Inpatient Oncology, Haematology and Lymphoedema – Physiotherapy
12 months temporary, 14.4 hours per week (pro‑rated salary for part‑time)
Workplace and Legal Requirements
To work in the United Kingdom, a valid work permit is required, granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service.
Responsibilities
This post holder will assess and treat patients on the inpatient oncology wards in the Western General Hospital and manage a caseload of out‑patients, including those with cancer‑related lymphoedema, living in Edinburgh and the Lothians area.
Qualifications and Experience
• Valid PVG Scheme membership/record for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult). If not current, a satisfactory application will be made to Disclosure Scotland prior to commencement.
• Clinical experience in assessing and treating patients with neurological, respiratory and general mobility problems.
• Experience delivering acute Oncology physiotherapy care is beneficial.
• Experience in lymphoedema management is beneficial.
• If the post is extended, completion of a postgraduate certificate in lymphoedema practice may be expected.
Additional Requirements
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check. The appointment will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme if the role is assessed as regulated.
