Job Title: Electrical Shift Engineer
Purpose of the Job
• To deliver electrical maintenance within a 24/7 shift environment, ensuring all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.
• To carry out both reactive maintenance and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of electrical infrastructure.
• To support site operations while developing technical skills and progressing toward supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Work a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern covering days and nights.
• Carry out PPMs and reactive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Maintain and repair lighting systems, including lamp changes, ballast changes, and Simtroinc / Philips lighting controls.
• Conduct emergency lighting testing in line with statutory requirements.
• Inspect, maintain, and support transformers and associated electrical plant.
• Accurately complete maintenance logs, shift handovers, and compliance documentation.
• Participate in training programmes to enhance electrical competency.
• Support overtime requirements when available.
• Demonstrate leadership potential and support progression toward supervisory roles.
Personal Experience / Qualifications / Skills
• Strong electrical background within commercial, industrial, or critical environments.
• Experience working on lighting systems, emergency lighting, and electrical distribution.
• Ability to fault-find and work effectively in a shift-based environment.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and development.
• Interest in career progression into supervisory or leadership positions.
Working Hours & Benefits

• Salary: £45,000 per annum
