Job Title: Business Development / Surety Broker
Job Responsibilities:
1. Business Development: Drive business growth by identifying potential clients, industries, and markets that align with the company's objectives. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
2. Client Consultation: Engage with potential and existing clients to understand their surety bond requirements, business objectives, and risk profiles. Provide expert advice on appropriate surety solutions and foster long-term client relationships.
3. Surety Bond Placement: Collaborate with underwriters to secure surety bond placements for clients. Negotiate terms and conditions, ensuring the most favourable outcomes for both the client and the company.
4. Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities. Utilize this knowledge to develop effective business strategies.
5. Sales Targets: Meet and exceed sales targets, contributing significantly to the company's growth and success.
6. Networking: Represent Phillips Schroeder Surety Limited at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions. Leverage these opportunities to expand the company's presence and acquire new business leads.
7. Client Relationship Management: Provide ongoing support to existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly.
8. Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory requirements and industry standards, maintaining the highest level of ethical conduct and professionalism.
Requirements:
* Proven track record in business development and sales, preferably in the surety industry, financial services or insurance sector.
* Knowledge of surety bonds and related products is highly advantageous.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
* Excellent relationship-building skills, fostering trust and confidence with clients and underwriters.
* Results-driven mindset, with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
* Self-motivated and proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. With the ability to work remotely without supervision.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Law or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
