Overview

Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST) and First Aid Lead role with Staffordshire Police. Permanent, full-time position (Grade G £38,754 Min - £45,147 Max). Learning and Organisational Development (L&OD) sits within the Enabling Services Directorate and is responsible for the design, delivery, evaluation and continuous development of teaching products for police officers and staff; in line with the College of Policing National Curriculum and supporting the priorities of the Force Policing Plan. L&OD strives to be at the forefront of Trust Driven Policing and the National Enabling Programme, working with peers, partner organisations, regional Forces, collaboration and national forums. The role requires embedding a progressive learning culture and developing continuous improvement across the Force.

This is an exciting opportunity to represent Staffordshire Police for Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST) and First Aid Training locally, regionally and nationally.


Responsibilities

* Maintain and manage L&OD’s portfolio of PPST and First Aid training provision, including control of specific course content, techniques and tactics to ensure all officers and staff are trained in legal, safe and proportionate use of force.
* Be responsible for managing and developing a large team of trainers and ensure licencing requirements are met for the delivery of training.
* Deliver a robust training plan to ensure all officers and staff maintain mandatory accreditation in line with national requirements.
* Be a nationally accredited SME, to act on behalf of Staffordshire Police, IOPC, Coroners Court and other UK Forces in the use of force.
* Be commercially minded for income generation, engaging at strategic level.

The successful candidate should be able to lead and inspire their team, cope under pressure, make sound decisions at short notice and have excellent time management to manage multiple tasks. Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the experience to lead a large training team, be able to act as a nationally accredited SME, and demonstrate strategic engagement at a high level.
