Cleaning Operative — Balgreen Primary School
Salary: £25,322 - £25,623 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 15 per week, 40 weeks sessional
Working pattern: Monday - Friday 15:00hrs - 18:00hrs
As a cleaner with the City of Edinburgh Council, you will be a key member of the Facilities Management team. You will deliver a vital cleaning service across our estate to ensure properties are safe and clean places to work or learn. This role offers secure and flexible employment with above-market rates and good terms, while helping balance family, caring or studying commitments.
Responsibilities
* To empty litter and recycling bins.
* Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings.
* Clean all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenish washroom consumables.
* Emergency and reactive cleaning as required (e.g., graffiti removal, spillages).
* Care and cleanliness of all equipment used in cleaning duties.
* Other tasks reasonably required that relate to the role, including supporting cleaning tasks across other buildings when needed.
* Deliver to the cleaning specification requirements and cooperate with performance measurement to meet standards.

Employment Checks
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
