Purpose
:
The Painter will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the appearance of club facilities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation. They will play a vital role in supporting the overall efficiency of the department, contributing to a well-maintained environment that reflects the professionalism and prestige of Manchester United.
The Role:
1. Carry out a wide range of painting and decorating duties across company premises, ensuring a high-quality finish and consistent aesthetic standards.
2. Collaborate effectively with other trades and departments, providing hands-on support to ensure seamless operations and timely project completion.
3. Prepare training rooms and event spaces to a professional standard, ensuring all areas are clean, functional, and ready for use.
4. Assist the Facilities Manager in delivering special projects, contributing to planning, execution, and on-site support as required.
5. Safeguard fixtures, furniture, and flooring by carefully covering and protecting all surfaces prior to painting or maintenance work.
6. Perform surface preparation tasks such as sanding, washing, scraping, and filling to ensure optimal conditions for painting and decorating applications.
Skills & Experience:
7. Proven experience working in a large workplace environment, demonstrating the ability to adapt to complex operational settings and collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
8. Exceptional colour vision and a refined eye for visual detail, ensuring consistently high aesthetic standards in all painting and decorating work.
9. Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with meticulous attention to detail, delivering precise, high-quality finishes across varied surfaces and environments.
10. Extensive knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface treatments, with hands-on experience using a broad range of professional tools and equipment.
11. Strong time management and organisational skills, with a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high productivity and workmanship.
12. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
13. Proficient in the use of professional-grade painting and decorating tools, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, scrapers, and preparation equipment.
