Job Summary
Elmwood Family Doctors is a large, modern General Practice operating from two locations in Huddersfield (Holmfirth and Meltham). We are seeking a salaried GP for a fixed‑term contract of up to 12 months, with the opportunity to work up to six sessions per week. The successful candidate will join a team of 10 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and a comprehensive administrative support team.

Key Clinical Responsibilities
* Practice in accordance with accepted good medical practice and the various clinical policies of Elmwood Family Doctors.
* Work to an agreed timetable, making yourself available for surgery consultations, home visits, and to check and sign repeat prescriptions, mainly online.
* Make professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self‑referenced or referred by other health‑care workers.
* Assess the health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, screen for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Contribute to QOF requirements and record data appropriately to achieve other practice quality markers.
* Develop care plans for health‑related illnesses in consultation with patients and in line with current disease‑management protocols.
* Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Collect data for audit purposes and contribute to the practice audit programme.
* Prescribe in accordance with the accepted prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever clinically appropriate.
* Take responsibility for aspects of the clinical work within the team, including governance, QOF, enhanced services, CPD and keeping protocols up to date.
* Undertake all normal GP duties as set by the Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical Council, other relevant Royal Colleges, the Department of Health and other regulatory bodies, including appraisal and revalidation.
* Maintain quality within the practice, alert team members to quality and risk issues, assess own performance and take accountability for actions.
* Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet patients’ needs and manage own time, workload and resources.
* Support the team’s approach to referrals, ensuring adequate information is given to referred providers for proper assessment.

Qualifications
Essential
* Medical Degree
* Current GMC registration with licence to practice
* Inclusion on the GP register
* Experience of working in a primary‑care environment

* Evidence of further qualifications and interests

* Experience in a primary‑care setting, working with undifferentiated patients and managing complex patients holistically

Working Pattern & Contract
* Fixed‑term contract, 12 months.
* Part‑time – up to six sessions per week; schedule to be agreed.
* Salary depends on experience.
