HGV Class 2 Day Driver – Birmingham
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Day Driver – Birmingham to join our well-established client based in Birmingham, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HGV Class 2 Day Driver offering great rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for development and progression.
Shifts
• Monday to Friday
• 06:30 start times
Rates of Pay
• £14.27 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
• Completing up to 7 drops per day (curtain-side work), with an afternoon collection
• Operating and driving Class 2 (Category C) vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secured correctly using ratchet straps
• Adhering to all UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential Skills
• Valid UK Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver
• Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points (no major endorsements)
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Reliable, punctual, and professional approach
• Good understanding of road safety and transport regulations
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Multi-drop delivery experience
Training Provided
• Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout the assignment
