Main duties of the HCA/Care Assistants:
1. Assist in providing practical and personal support to enable service users to have more control over their lives and to meet their assessed needs by maintaining and promoting their health, wellbeing, and social development.
2. Support service users in a range of activities that promote their development as individuals, increase independence, and maximize community inclusion, as identified through daily choices and their care plans.
3. Help service users make informed decisions and experience new activities within a safe risk-taking framework.
4. Ensure high standards of support concerning quality of life and a homely environment, including support for challenging service users.
5. Assist service users in attending social and leisure activities, community outings, and appointments.
6. Support service users with their needs, respecting their culture and dignity, which may involve prompting for activities of daily living such as washing, dressing, feeding, or administering medication.
7. Help service users meet goals outlined in their person-centered and care plans.
8. Assist with cooking, shopping, cleaning, gardening, laundry, ironing, and household tasks.
9. Participate in maintaining high domestic standards regarding cleaning, hygiene, and providing balanced, culturally appropriate meals.
10. Support service users in monitoring their health and wellbeing.
11. Care for service users' property, money, and personal effects, maintaining proper records.
12. Keep accurate records, including personal files and financial documents of service users.
About you:
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
* Inspired to support individuals with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or additional needs?
* Wanting to make a difference in the lives of people in care?
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Willing to undertake training if required.
