About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer to join a leading organisation within the space and satellite sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in the end-to-end verification and validation of complex spacecraft systems, ensuring that design, functionality, and performance meet customer and mission requirements.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Systems Engineering, Integration & Test, and Quality to deliver high-assurance verification strategies and test campaigns on cutting-edge space programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute verification and validation plans, strategies, and procedures for spacecraft subsystems and systems.
* Define and manage requirements traceability, ensuring complete coverage from system-level specifications through to final test results.
* Support test readiness reviews, qualification, and acceptance testing activities.
* Participate in integration, environmental testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMC), and system-level validation.
* Analyse test data and produce verification reports, test summaries, and compliance matrices.
* Work collaboratively with design and systems teams to identify, investigate, and resolve anomalies.
* Ensure all V&V activities comply with project, customer, and regulatory standards (e.g., ECSS, DOORS, ISO).
Essential Skills & Experience
* Active UK Security Clearance (SC or higher) – essential.
* Proven experience as a Verification & Validation Engineer, Test Engineer, or Systems Engineer within the space, satellite, or aerospace sector.
* Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycles, including requirements management and validation methodologies.
* Experience with tools such as IBM DOORS, MATLAB, or similar for requirements traceability and data analysis.
* Hands-on experience in hardware/software integration and system testing.
* Knowledge of space industry standards (ECSS, ESA processes, etc.).
* Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable
* Experience with payloads, avionics, or propulsion systems.
* Exposure to environmental test facilities and automated test systems.
* Degree-qualified in Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
