Part-time Accounts Assistant
Our client is seeking a part-time Accounts Assistant to support the finance team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and contributing to the smooth operation of the organisation's financial processes.
Part-time Accounts Assistant Responsibilities
This position will involve, but will not be limited to:
1. Lead month-end close activities, ensuring timely posting of accruals and prepayments and producing accurate financial results.
2. Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are fully supported and audit-ready.
3. Manage the purchase order approval process, working with budget holders to ensure accurate coding and financial control.
4. Support sales ledger accuracy and credit control, assisting in debt collection, aged debt reporting, and account follow-ups.
5. Provide accurate financial data for board reporting, including variance analysis and key metrics to support decision-making.
6. Collaborate with the finance team and wider business, actively contributing to team outcomes and promoting company values.

The Company
A rapidly growing international company, driven by purpose. This is a part-time role working 25 hours per week, ideally split over 5 days working 9:30 - 14:30, however, other options will be considered (minimum 4 days).
Part-time Accounts Assistant Essentials
13. Experience working in a finance or accounts team, ideally in a similar assistant or junior accounting role
14. Practical knowledge of month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
15. Ideally AAT qualified or working towards, with strong Excel skills
16. A professional and proactive self-starter, who takes initiative
17. Excellent attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy
18. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks.
19. Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities
20. Able to demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks effectively, within a fast-pace and changing environment
